Green Office: Fermentation Workshop

Description
Miso, kombucha, soy sauce and kimchi: these are special flavourings used in cooking, created through fermentation. But yoghurt, cheese, bread and beer are also made using fermentation: the controlled use of bacteria and yeasts. You can do this yourself, in your own kitchen!

What are we going to do?
In this workshop on Tuesday 3 March in the kitchen of Innovatiepunt Kaap, we will learn how fermentation works and about the benefits of organic products. At the end of the workshop, you will know how to apply the technique in your own kitchen and you will take home something tasty and healthy in a jar!

Why would you want to learn how to ferment?
Fermentation is fun, challenging and good for your health. Fermented food is full of ready-made probiotics for your intestines. If you can ferment fruit and vegetables yourself, you will also have to throw away far fewer products, as what you ferment has a long shelf life and is healthy. This means less waste and savings! Fermenting is also a smart and tasty way to be economical with our environment and find new ways to eat organically and protein-rich.
